A Chinese white jade vase

A Chinese white jade vase, cover and stand 19th century, carved with lingzhi fungus handles from which loose rings are suspended, the cover with four further loose rings, and with an elaborate oval knop formed from fruits and further fungi, 9cm high. (3) Provenance: formerly in the collection of Walter Montgomerie Nielson Reid of Glasgow, the son of Walter Reid, manufacturer of steam locomotives in Glasgow. Exhibited: The Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow, from 7th December 1906 - 20th March 1909. Bears paper labels for loan no.20.s.06.
