A rare Chinese blue and white large cylindrical censer or brush pot c.1635-40, brightly painted using different tones of wash depicting four seated, scholarly monks, one sewing, one resting, one reading and the other watching his smoking censer beside tied scrolls amongst grass and rockwork, all beneath the clouds and moon and raised on three feet, the base unglazed, 22.3cm.
