Two Chinese gilt bronze censers and covers 18th century, each with a lion dog knop and reticulated covers, the bodies raised on three legs and with panels of flowers cast in relief and loose-ringed animal head handles, one rim with a key fret design, some wear to the gilding and one ring lacking, 13.5cm max. (4) Provenance: property of a Lady, acquired in Beijing c.1960. Cf. Sawasa, Japanese Export Art in Black and Gold 1650-1800, pp.103 and 104 for similar examples.
