A CHINESE UNCUT SILK APRICOT-YELLOW GROUND DRAGON ROBE, JIFU
LATE QING DYNASTY
Embroidered in polychrome and with gilt thread with five-clawed dragons chasing jewels amongst scrolling clouds, shou characters, fylfots and bats holding peaches, above waves and Buddhist emblems, 300cm x 153cm.
Robes with an apricot-yellow ground were reserved for the crown prince, his consorts and the crown princess.
