A FINE AND RARE CHINESE IMPERIAL YELLOW GLAZED ANHUA-DECORATED 'CRANES' DISH
SIX CHARACTER YONGZHENG MARK IN UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND OF THE PERIOD 1723-35
The shallow body with a gently flaring rim, delicately incised to the interior with a central medallion containing a pair of cranes standing beneath a pine tree, with lingzhi fungus emerging from the tree's trunk and rockwork, the reverse with five bats in flight amongst clouds, 13.5cm.
Provenance: purchased by Bluett & Sons from Carretier, 24th February 1937, for £3:4:0. The collection of Basil Drewe, purchased from Bluett & Sons on 13th August 1937, for £6, and thence by descent.
