FOUR CHINESE CELADON JADE ZODIAC ANIMALS

QIANLONG 1736-95

Formed as the ox, the dragon, the goat and the pig, each in a seated position, wearing draped robes and holding various attributes, 4.2cm max. (4)

Provenance: Lt. Col. Edmund Whitehead (1870-1945), an interpreter for the British Army who served in Beijing c.1890, and thence by descent.
