A FINE CHINESE WHITE JADE SNUFF BOTTLE

1750-1820

The ovoid body carved in shallow relief with a large fruit issuing from a gnarled branch with a smaller fruit to one side, each decorated with geometric designs, a single bat in flight beneath them, the base with a mark which reads yu pu (precious jade), 6.4cm.

Provenance: formerly in the collection of Reverend Dr K H Uttley (1901- 1972).
