A CHINESE COROMANDEL FOUR PANEL 'EIGHT IMMORTAL' SCREEN
THE PANELS 18TH/19TH CENTURY
Reconstructed from an eight panel screen of half the height and decorated on one side with figures in a mountainous pagoda landscape and with Tieguai Li riding on a cloud, the reverse decorated with a banqueting scene with mountains beyond, the borders decorated with dragons and with scrolls to 219cm x 125cm.
Provenance: Field Marshal Earl Kitchener of Khartoum (1850-1916), and thence by descent through the family.
