A RARE CHINESE CELADON DOUBLE GOURD VASE, HULUPING

SIX-CHARACTER QIANLONG MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1736-95

With the body formed as a bottle gourd, all evenly coated with light celadon-green glaze, 37.5cm.

Provenance: from the collection of Peter Meyer, believed to have been purchased from Sydney Moss Ltd in the late 1960s.

The double gourd symbolises the harmony between heaven and earth, healthy offspring and good fortune.
