A PAIR OF CHINESE RUBY-BACKED 'THREE QUAIL' DISHES
YONGZHENG 1723-35
Each finely painted to the centre with three quails among rocks and flowers, the cavetto with a border of green diaper, the rims with a pink diaper pattern and panels of flowers and fruit, the reverse in a rich ruby colour, 20.8cm. (2)
Provenance: an English private collection, Dorset, purchased from Sydney L Moss on 13th December 1963 for £275, a copy of the original invoice is available.
