A NEAR PAIR OF CHINESE ARCHAISTIC TURQUOISE GLAZED HU-SHAPED VASES

PROBABLY KANGXI

Each with a pear-shaped body with elephant head handles with gilt bronze rings, moulded with flowerheads and scrolling foliage below a band of ruyi-heads and lappets, the short flared feet with bands of waves, raised on reticulated ormolu stands, 34cm. (4)

Provenance: a Hong Kong private collection, purchased from Mrs Marina Rainey, January 2008.
