A CHINESE BAMBOO ARCHAISTIC TRIPOD VESSEL

QING DYNASTY

The flared body supported on three lappet-shaped legs, all carved with taotie masks in shallow relief, with an animal head-shaped handle, the base with a four character Qianlong mark, together with a wood stand, 8.8cm. (2)

Provenance: a Hong Kong private collection, previously in an American private collection, Pittsburgh, later the Alice Boney Collection, purchased from Freeman's Philadelphia, 16th September 2008, lot 151.
