A CHINESE CELADON JADE ARCHAISTIC INCENSE BURNER
18TH/19TH CENTURY
The compressed circular body with two dragon-head handles carved with taotie masks and studs, the stone with minor white and russet inclusions, all raised on three short feet, 16cm.
Provenance: a Hong Kong private collection, acquired by an American diplomat during the late 19th century, exhibited at the East Coast Institution with a loan no.212-43-2 to the underside, later purchased from Freeman's Philadelphia, 16th September 2008, lot 49.
