A NEAR PAIR OF CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE GARLIC-MOUTH VASES

TRANSITIONAL C.1640

Each with an ovoid body surmounted by a tall narrow neck which rises to a garlic-head mouth and upright rim, painted with sprays of various plants including prunus, peony, lotus, orchids and bamboo, each with a scrolling floral band to the shoulder and stylised clouds to the bulbous top, together with silver covers decorated with hibiscus and grapes, 31.2cm. (4)
