A CHINESE UNDERGLAZE BLUE AND RED 'DRAGON' DISH

QING DYNASTY

Decorated in copper-red with a horned scaly dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl amidst billowing clouds, its eyes picked out in underglaze blue, the underside a mottled dark blue, 20.8cm.

Provenance: from the estate of Anne Marie Wood, Warwickshire, acquired no later than the 1990s.
