A CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE 'WUFU' OGEE BOWL
SIX CHARACTER GUANGXU MARK AND OF THE PERIOD 1875-1908
Painted to the exterior with blossoming lotus, with five bats encircling a shou character to the well, together with a pair of bowls decorated with birds perching amidst chrysanthemum, crab apple and bamboo, both with an inscription to the reverse, with six character stamped marks to the bases, 17.6cm max. (3)
Provenance: from the collection of Joseph Alexander Thomson (d.c.1950) who worked in Hangzhou, and thence by descent.
