'The Philosopher' a patinated metal figure by Sophia Rosamond Praeger, modelled as a young boy perched on a step signed in the metal, dated 1916 19cm. high Sophia Rosamond Praeger (1867-1954) was born in Holywood, County Down, studied at the Belfast School of Art and the Slade. She exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Paris Salons and also wrote and illustrated children's books.
