A rare Richard Parkinson Pottery hand in glove sculpture designed by Susan Parkinson, painted with geometric panels of chess pieces unsigned, minor restoration to nick on base rim 35cm. high Literature Carol Cashmore & Tim Smith Vincent Susan Parkinson and the Richard Parkinson Pottery, page 106 for another version. The hand in glove form, model no.90 was cast from a mould initially used for making commercial rubber gloves, a commission from Pfizer, medical suppliers - known from very few examples they are all individually decorated with surrealist designs.
