Catalogue Notes
Alfred James (1844-1936) inherited the lordship of Edgeworth Manor near Stroud on the Death of his brother Albert in 1914. He was a supporter of Peter Waals and assisted Waals in setting up his own workshop after Ernest Gimson's death in 1919. A talented craftsman in his own right he made a small amount of furniture for his own use - probably under the guidance of Peter Waals.
