Eddie Curtis took inspiration from an inland waterway near Seaham, County Durham -known locally as the The Blast. Polluted by the local mining industry The Blast developed an unexpected beauty caused by chemical and organic reactions which would have a lasting effect, inspiring the potter to create a range of vases in response.
