A Martin Brothers grotesque cane handle probably by Robert Wallace Martin, modelled as a reptilian creature perched on a cylindrical base, unglazed unsigned, 8.5cm. high Provenance The Martin Brothers Potters, Woolley and Wallis Auctioneers, 24th October 2006, lot 60. Private collection This cane handle was found on the floor of the Martin Brother's Southall Pottery after the site had been damaged by bombing in the second world war.
