We are pleased to include a fine private collection of Clarice Cliff and Goldscheider Pottery figures in the Design auction. The collection, which will begin day one of the sale was put together by Billy and Liz Kidd filling their house in Bedlington, Newcastle to the brim. One of the highlights of the Clarice Cliff section is a unique charger, possibly painted by Clarice Cliff herself, featuring a single female figure dancing with a tambourine, on a swirling abstract backdrop inspired by Sergei Diaghilev Ballets Russes with designs by avant garde artists of the time including Leon Bakst. These designers also influenced the ceramic sculptures made by Goldscheider in Austria in the 1930s.

The auction also includes other aspects of design, furniture, textiles and metalwork, Georg Jensen silver, Dr Christopher Dresser and Morris & Co. and glass by Lalique, Daum, Monart, Whitefriars and a selection of post-war Murano glass.

Please request a condition report prior to bidding as descriptions do not necessarily list all faults.
