A Pilkington's Lancastrian vase by Gordon Forsyth, dated 1911, shouldered, octagonal faceted form, painted with heraldic lion rampant, amidst tall pencil cypress trees, and laurel columns, in golden lustre on a yellow ground, the rim inscribed Qui non Laborat non Manducet (the one who does not work does not eat), in golden lustre impressed factory mark and XI datemark, painted artist cipher and date code for 1911, stilt mark chip to glaze on inside of foot rim, 24.5cm. high
