A Longwy Atelier Art Bon Marche footed bowl, enamelled to the well with stylised flowers and foliage in shades of green and blue printed and impressed factory marks 27cm. diam. Provenance Aesthetics, London The Albert E Wade Collection Le Bon Marche is one of Paris' most famous department stores and is often quoted as the first ever department store. Its present building, on the Rue de Sevres, was designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1852.
